Wow! Over and done with. 14 weeks of preparation, hard work and dedication all behind me. It is such a great feeling to know all your hard work paid off in the end. I must say it feels weird having all this free time in hand, on the other hand it is nice to be more relaxed and enjoy life a little outside of the gym to enjoy other venues, such as biking, hiking, eating out and spending time doing completely non gym related stuff.
I was so happy to have finished as strong as I did. I placed 12th in my height class in my first national show and being in the top 15 is already an honor within itself. I am proud to announce that I am as of now retiring from this sport to focus on developing my nutrition and personal training business and staying fit as I indulge into this new chapter in my life. I am 28 years old and have dreams that are big and far beyond what I can even put down on paper. It is important that I make time to grow into my future dreams without being so committed to only life within the gym.
I also plan on getting married and having wonderful children within the next three years and I know competing takes a toll on your body especially after doing 8 shows within a four year period. It excites me to think of finding balance in my life, and being the best that I can be in many different aspects of my life not just winning on stage.
I appreciate you all embarking upon my journey with me and I will have future blogs possibly on my life and how I plan out my business and private life while still keeping fit and inspiring many others along the way!!!!!
Thanks again to all who made this journey possible. A special thanks goes to Kelly Valdez, my nutritionist in Hawaii who monitored my daily progress, Helvio DeCarvhallo my trainer here in San Diego who made me actually cry one session during a leg workout, my wonderful client Deb Stephenson who drove up to Las Vegas 5 days early to support me in my last week of prep while my boyfriend was in Puerto Rico, my amazing supportive boyfriend Peter Seguinot who stood by my side cheering me on the entire way loving and supporting me for my passion, Sabrina for doing an amazing makeup and hair job the day of my show, Mercedes and Rich(San Diego), Liz and Al(San Diego), Maurius(San Diego), Amy and Jason (San Diego),Ellen and Eugene(Oklahoma), Shane(Hawaii), Helen and Tobias (Sweden) for traveling to Las Vegas to watch and support and anybody and everybody whom I forgot to list who were supportive along the way. I can't describe in words enough how appreciative I am for that. All you guys thank you as well for writing wonderful things on my blog to keep me going and thank you for all the texts and phone calls to stay tuned in on the big day of the show.
