What a journey

Wow! Over and done with. 14 weeks of preparation, hard work and dedication all behind me. It is such a great feeling to know all your hard work paid off in the end. I must say it feels weird having all this free time in hand, on the other hand it is nice to be more relaxed and enjoy life a little outside of the gym to enjoy other venues, such as biking, hiking, eating out and spending time doing completely non gym related stuff.

I was so happy to have finished as strong as I did. I placed 12th in my height class in my first national show and being in the top 15 is already an honor within itself. I am proud to announce that I am as of now retiring from this sport to focus on developing my nutrition and personal training business and staying fit as I indulge into this new chapter in my life. I am 28 years old and have dreams that are big and far beyond what I can even put down on paper. It is important that I make time to grow into my future dreams without being so committed to only life within the gym.

I also plan on getting married and having wonderful children within the next three years and I know competing takes a toll on your body especially after doing 8 shows within a four year period. It excites me to think of finding balance in my life, and being the best that I can be in many different aspects of my life not just winning on stage.

I appreciate you all embarking upon my journey with me and I will have future blogs possibly on my life and how I plan out my business and private life while still keeping fit and inspiring many others along the way!!!!!

Thanks again to all who made this journey possible. A special thanks goes to Kelly Valdez, my nutritionist in Hawaii who monitored my daily progress, Helvio DeCarvhallo my trainer here in San Diego who made me actually cry one session during a leg workout, my wonderful client Deb Stephenson who drove up to Las Vegas 5 days early to support me in my last week of prep while my boyfriend was in Puerto Rico, my amazing supportive boyfriend Peter Seguinot who stood by my side cheering me on the entire way loving and supporting me for my passion, Sabrina for doing an amazing makeup and hair job the day of my show, Mercedes and Rich(San Diego), Liz and Al(San Diego), Maurius(San Diego), Amy and Jason (San Diego),Ellen and Eugene(Oklahoma), Shane(Hawaii), Helen and Tobias (Sweden) for traveling to Las Vegas to watch and support and anybody and everybody whom I forgot to list who were supportive along the way. I can't describe in words enough how appreciative I am for that. All you guys thank you as well for writing wonderful things on my blog to keep me going and thank you for all the texts and phone calls to stay tuned in on the big day of the show.

Two days to go!

Holly crap the time has come, I am no longer working out just eating and relaxing comparing my body as I fill it with carbs to make sure all the carb loading, water depleting and sodium depleting happens the way it is supposed to. Thanks to my nutritionist Kelly, we are keeping a close eye on my physique with me sending him pictures every morning and every night from here on out so we can make adjustments as need be. I will keep you posted on what I experiencing throughout the next couple of days.

Deb and I are having a blast, eating, chilling, shopping and sleeping. Wow I am so appreciative of her coming all this way to support me before the big event helping with pictures and all, here are a couple from this am enjoy!

Day 87

Things are coming down to the wire. I am winding down, this week is the last week of pushing weights. I am making sure that I get a great pump lighter weight in and out is my motto this week. It is time to really start visualizing myself on stage and really feeling 100 percent confident with my posing.

I am glad I am so ahead with my planning. It doesn't seem rushed and all is going according to plan which is awesome. I have friends from Sweden flying in tomorrow whom will stay with me and bring great energy to the house until I fly out to Vegas next Tuesday. My sweet lover is flying to Puerto Rico this Wednesday and I will not see him until Friday the day before the show, really am going to miss him, however, looking at the positive side of things I will get great rest and have something to look forward to when I am out in Vegas.

I am going to bed early tonight and really pounding the Vitamin C, Lysine, B's and Zinc to really make sure I am feeling strong and healthy and able to finish this week out strong without any setbacks, which is going to happen. I am healthy, whole and complete!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Goodnight guys love ya all and crap in two weeks I will be eating some yummi food yayyyyyy!

Day 83

Seriously I don't think I have had an arm workout such as today for a long time. I can barley lift my arms and they feel so fatigued I love it:) It was worth it to get into the gym early this morning and do the workout so that I could enjoy my massage afterwards and have the rest of the day off to relax and catch up on some rest:)

Wow 15 days in counting. Weird I received a text today from Link my posing coach saying that our prejudging was going to be moved from Friday evening till Friday morning and that all the competitors were going to hear from the promoter soon. I guess the show has grown so drastically with so many competitors that they have to start earlier than planned???? Will keep you posted.

Next week is the first trial run of my carb load so we can see how my body responds. I am going to go into depletion phase Saturday, Sunday and Monday and start loading Tuesday, however I will keep you posted on what is going to happen.

Have a great Friday everybody!

Day 82 Fired up!

Today was awesome! I had a great day in all aspects. Met up with my posing coach again which was good for my motivation to stay focused for these last few weeks. I feel confident and I look much more polished and graceful than previous sessions, thank goodness everything is coming together nicely:) I set up one final session next week Wednesday to go over any last minute corrections that need to be addressed and then the following Monday before I fly out to Vegas we are going to take a look at my physique in my suit one last time and see how it all looks put together:) It is insane how the last few weeks the most changes in physique occur. All that hard work and the last two weeks is where the work will really pay off and show. I am already dreaming of my chocolate cake post show and my bowl of fresh fruit the morning after yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmi!

I am psyched for my high carb day tomorrow, yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!! I am also treating myself to a massage tomorrow, a much needed one:) I will sacrifice sleep early am and get my arm workout done before my 7 am client to enjoy the benefits after the massage and take it easy and spend some much needed time to relax hopefully with my baby since it is his day off as well.

Wow, counting the days of weight training I have left is only 11 days including my days off now since I will do extra abs, calves and or inner outer thigh stuff to tighten up! Then posing and relaxing in Vegas watching funny movies and prepping mentally for the big day. I have dedicated almost 12 weeks to this intense training and I can say the journey thus far has been really worth it and I feel proud of how far I have come. I am determined to finish of strong and give my all until the very end!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GO STRONG ALL THE WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Day 81 countdown begins

Alright, moved in, connected to the Internet officially full access from here on out until I leave for Vegas.

Wow these past two weeks have been tough. I have really hit some lows, but my mindset is positive and upbeat. I am hanging in there and trucking away working really hard especially this next week and a half. I really need to listen to my body these next three weeks and be kind to myself if I need to slow down. I really have filled my mind with positive thoughts, and visualizing the smile on my face when on stage and all my hard work shows. I am excited and am enjoying the rest of my journey.

It is so nice to be so supported by my boyfriend, fellow workers, friends and clients. I can't stress enough the impact a positive word can do for me. It can fuel me with energy and kick the fatigue in a heartbeat so thank you so much everybody.

Plans are coming more together. My suit will be ready for pick up Monday the 20th:) My wonderful client Deb is coming out to Vegas with me early to be there to support me and provide transportation in case we need to run last minute errands. I have to wonderful friends who are flying all the way in from Sweden to stay with me the week before the show and help with any necessary things, also nice to have great positive energy come my way friends from way back when:)

I have my last nail and waxing appointments booked for Monday and Tuesday before I fly out of town and am still working on a hair and makeup appointment for prejudging and finals.

All in all I will keep you updated and report daily from here on out. Thanks again for all your support and love!

Way toooooo long

Finally back in action. I am back from traveling and just got moved into a new place all while training and strictly staying on track with everything. I apologize for being so out of touch, I still have no computer but as of Tuesday this will change we are getting the Internet hooked up and you can cheer me on the last final weeks for I will really need your support everybody.

I am not going to lie, these last two weeks especially have been pretty tough not only physically but also mentally. I have stepped into the extreme mode, where we are pushing to the limits for the next two weeks to try and have me stage ready so that we can play with my diet the last two weeks and figure out the perfect carb load phase for my body and this show. Wow three weeks left today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't believe it is so near, finally all the hard work is about to show.

Things are falling into place just as I imagined them to. Nothing can stand in my way I am on a roll and focused till the last drip of sweat leaves my forehead.

I received my sponsorship check from Hawaii, lined up a makeup artist, my spray paint session, will have my food cooked and ready to roll for the four days that I am out there and have time to rehearse posing and relax while getting mentally ready for my big day.

My suit should be done in two weeks going for my last fitting tomorrow morning after cardio/pictures and yes, I will post them ASAP:) Will try to have them up at least by Wednesday when our computer and Internet is hooked up. K, stay tuned and check in and see this body transform into something out of this world :)

Love you all

Day 69

Wooohooooo in Hawaii motivated by all my friends who are competing this coming Saturday. I have been busy training, catching up with people and posing, but all with feeling content and happy (other than missing Peter;) )!!!!!

The big show is Saturday, I am so proud of everyone here and love the changes I am seeing in all! They have all worked so hard and are champions within my eyes.

I spoke with Kelly in great detail today and we decided to go all out these next two weeks and bump cardio up to three double sessions and dropping all carbs, H, M and L days (ouch)! We decided best would be to come in completely shredded two weeks early and have a trial run before the real show to perfect the still unknown and see how my body responds. That way we still have two weeks to fix things.

Another change we have made is to take out Almond butter completely (good choice) hard to control myself when I eat it LOL and replace that fat with Mac Oil. That way it won't be so tempting to overeat and I still am able to take in healthy fats:) Let the fun begin, I am ready to give my all to these last few weeks and am glad to have the inspiration from the Hawaiian Islands this weekend to carry over until my show in Vegas!!!!

I will take lots of pics and post as soon as I have the chance.

Day 64 and 65

Great weekend! Kelly looked at my pictures and agreed upon two extra cardio days at 30 minutes a week for now. Food and all else stays the same as of now. The nice thing is that Kelly will actually get to really look at me once I am in Hawaii and we can formulate a plan for my last four weeks and have a better feel of where to go from here.

I took the day to organize myself ahead of time so when Wednesday comes around I am ready to workout, shower and board the plane without forgetting anything vital. I cooked all my meals including meals for my flight and have all my supplements already packed in individual zip lock bags and my cooler handy for my trip.

Lets get this week started 5 weeks out! The time is going to fly, I am embracing every moment of it and enjoying the moment for it only comes once in a lifetime. I appreciate life, I am blessed beyond belief and I am thankful for this journey and all that comes with it!

Good night to you all, thanks for being you:)

Day 63

Tomorrow already at 5 weeks out! Wow looking back I must say time has really passed by rather quickly. Training was good as usual today. A different kind of a kill on the legs, really muscle mind connection, rather than heavy weights with less focused form. The session ended with great muscle burn, a soaking wet workout outfit and tremendous fatigue. I managed to do abs after and went back this evening for a 30 minute cardio session. I have decided to add on two extra cardio sessions a week at 30 minutes a session and see where it takes me. I want to be as ready as I can be as soon as possible to come in more relaxed and prepared where I can eat to fill out and relax more at the end versus rushing the process and stress out. Posing practice has been going well I am paying a lot more attention to detail now that I know where to look, the hands, the pivoting of the feet and the timing of it all.

I plan to be very productive this weekend and give these last five weeks my all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am healthy, whole and complete!
I am only filling myself with positive energy!
I visualize myself on stage with a flawless performance!
I believe in myself to the fullest and am determined!

Updated pictures will be posted tomorrow at some point, so check back and see if you notice any difference from last week:)

Thursday, June 18, 2009

I apologize for being out of touch for so long but I currently have no connection to the Internet and the convenience of blogging has been a little harder than usual. Things are amazing. Getting leaner day by day, more comfortable with my posing and killing the workouts with lighter weight and more intensity high rep to complete failure. Hard work is still ahead but heavy weights and the insanity is behind, now sculpting and really polishing the body is key.
This weekend I will get more pictures up and see if Monday Helvio can remeasure me to see progress.

Psyched have flight booked to Hawaii for next Wednesday and am so thrilled to be backstage and help out all my friends who were there for my show last year. It will also be nice to be around the competitive people who are all in the same mindset as myself, this I am sure will give me lots of motivation to push through the last three weeks, before my show.

I am hoping to also connect with old clients and work a little while there if at all possible. Pics coming and more entries to follow I will try and find a way to connect daily on another computer if not you know why:)

Love you all! Thanks for being there and supporting my journey, all of you are my greatest appreciation.

Day 59

Its coming along. Amy videotaped me posing this evening practicing my quarter turns and model turns over and over again. It is incredible how much detail goes into each move and how the slightest bit off of any move and or turn sticks out like a sore thumb. We want perfection for USA's and that is what I am striving for. The day of the show I am going to be flawless and perfect and all my practice and time put into training will pay off:)

Link has been great at helping me polish up during our coaching sessions and every time I have met him thus far he has seen improvements, still a far way to go but at least a start:)

I am exhausted and heading right for bed:) Goodnight and remember what you put your mind and energy in to is the outcome you will produce one hundred percent every time! Start believing, because I know we all have it within ourselves!

Day 57 and 58

Busy this weekend, nice to be in town and have time to catch up on stuff without feeling rushed and overwhelmed due to traveling or being overbooked. I managed to get a lot done this weekend and took lots of time to recover from my crazy leg day on Friday. I was extra tired and made sure I caught up on extra needed rest to help the recovery process and focus on fulfilling the wishes of my body.

After emailing the pictures to my nutritionist in Hawaii we once again backed down on the carbs a little for both those days and will see how I progress throughout the week.

I had an awful lot of chocolate cake cravings this weekend, which I guess is human right? The thing that keeps me going is thinking only 6 weeks left and then I can enjoy my piece with pride and a feeling of accomplishment, plus I know other girls aren't cheating so I sure as hell ain't either to fill that craving with short term pleasure is not worth the nine weeks of hard work put in thus far, six more weeks will fly by, it will be totally worth the wait!

Meeting with Link this evening for my 3rd posing session and I have been practicing every day, my friend Amy is videotaping my session so that I can watch it over and over again and learn from my mistakes and perfect the posing to a T:)

Be in touch later this evening on how my training and posing went.

Friday, June 12, 2009

Day 56

It's Friday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Legs/Abs/45 minutes cardio (make up session from Sunday) and posing all done so all in all productive day!

I just got through ordering my package from Jan Tana for USA's. What this means is that they will professionally spray me Thursday so that I can look even and not worry about having to apply color myself, so nice!!!!!!!!!!!! Cost 180$ ouch, but I already know it will be totally worth it!!!!!!!! Tomorrow I am getting up early to do cardio and then immediately after my client will take my pictures so that I can post them for you guys.

Planning on taking a hot epsom salt bath and getting good rest to let my wheels recover and repair, man they were destroyed during my session today!

Keeping this short, low carb day did lots want to spend the night relaxing in peace and harmony.

Love you all!

Day 54 and 55

My posing session yesterday was absolutely much more detailed than the first time and I feel much more comfortable with the posing and foot movements, now it is up to me to perfect them through practicing my tail off and polishing up my presentation. I am glad I started early, I am a firm believer that practicing over and over again will produce great and guaranteed results.

My next meeting with Link is this coming Monday and this session will be videotaped so that I can review and correct my posing throughout my practice sessions. It was great to walk away more confident and fired up! I am certain I am going to nail the poses down in no time and with all the help I am getting have a flawless appearance on stage at USA's!

This week has been good I have been diligently doing my cardio first thing am and killing time reading books and educating my mind. Training has been awesome and again looking forward to quad day tomorrow, now the fun begins we are going to start chiseling away at the legs and sculpt them to perfection. Pics coming I promise!

Tuesday, June 9, 2009

Day 53

Whoooohooooo hamstring and butt day today was intense as hell. I must of sweat a gallon as I killed it this morning! Not only did I keep reps high, but also made sure weight was heavy as if I was training with Helvio! In the afternoon I did my calves and abs with one of my clients Liz Pacheco, after her workout and we motivated each other and had a solid session pushing one another.

These last weeks are going to be eating, living, breathing fitness to the fullest. I made that choice and am going to stick with it with all my heart. Tomorrow's posing session with Link should be interesting and I am sure I will learn a lot. Mental focus and attitude are going to be my life savers over these next couple of weeks and I know the outcome will be so worth it, so I am willing to give it my all and believe in letting it just happen. I can't wait to update you with pictures this weekend and measurements which are long overdue.

To an awesome week to all of us. Keep focused and train hard!

Monday, June 8, 2009

Day 52

My news on my training progress! I think it is time to step it the heck up. I don't feel as lean and ready as I should this far in the game so I am making some drastic changes to my plan.

My new split is going to be the following:

Monday: Back/Abs/ 30 min posing
Tuesday: Hamstrings/Butt/Calves/30 min posing
Wednesday: Shoulders/Abs/30 min posing
Thursday: Arms/Calves/30 min posing
Friday: Quads/Abs/30 min posing
Saturday: Chest/Calves/30 min posing
Sunday: off

I am also dropping the HIT sessions and sticking with 45 minutes moderate intense cardio 45 minutes either incline treadmill walk on 15 at speed of 3.5-4.0 or stair master level 8-12.

My carbs and the way I am cycling them is going to change as well. I am going low on my leg days to allow to burn more fat, here I am just going to have to rely on my mental toughness to get me through each intense leg session, which shouldn't be a problem. I can get pretty crazy and find energy and overpower the workout with positive thoughts a talent I appreciate.

I am meeting with Link this Wednesday evening for our posing session and we will have a better idea on where I am heading and how I am progressing according to him as well:) I personally would rather come in early and eat up to the day of the show looking full and hard, rather than soft and flabby.

Lets step it up a notch and make the next couple of weeks count to the fullest. Eat, train, sleep everything else comes secondary from now on until I am done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Day 52

It seems like forever since I have blogged and I am sorry for keeping you all out of the loop for so long but this weekend was all about my client and I was traveling so I didn't have the time to blog. I did post some pictures up of Ellen at her show, and let me tell you she did an outstanding job and all her practice, hard training, intense dieting and preparation mentally as well as physically paid off big time. She won both 1st place in the beginners division and also in the masters. It was a blast painting her, being there for her backstage to pump her up and pick up the bits and pieces to help make her first show a comfortable and flawless experience. I was so impressed with her performance and her attitude throughout the whole process. Can you believe that she is 43 with three kids? Freaking stunning huh? I couldn't be more proud of my baby:) Can you imagine someone who came to train with you back in February of 08 in Hawaii at 30+ Body fat and a year and a half later stepping on stage and winning the every first show, yes some tears of joy were flowing this weekend! Ellen great job again thank you for your inspiration and amazing hospitality this weekend. I love you and I will always remember this amazing day!

Wednesday, June 3, 2009

Day 46 and 47

Tomorrow is the big day where I meet up with my former client who is flying me out to the east coast to help out backstage with her first show. I posted a picture of her to show how beautiful she looks and how proud I am of her. I will make sure to take lots of pictures and bring home some good news on her status:)

Today Brian measured me for my suit and we picked out fabric color and style. I am still deciding between a Royal Blue and a Turquoise. He gave me some material swabs to take with me so that I can show it and get a second opinion on deciding on the right color for me:) Since this is a National show the suit needs to be more bling bling and the cost is $800.00 ouch! I know it will be worth it and its going to look amazing on.

Any sponsors out there want to donate some money??????? :))))

It took me all afternoon to run my last minute errands and cook all my food for my flight tomorrow to not get off track on my travels! I got all my supps ready and Ellen has food and all the necessities at her house for my stay which is awesome! I will be out of town until Sunday so if you don't hear from me in a couple of days I promise I am still working out hard, and dieting while supporting and getting pumped up from watching her show!

Off to leg day how fun my plane ride will be tomorrow after pounding legs hard this evening!

Monday, June 1, 2009

Day 45

Getting it done! Back today without biceps much better. We really increased all weights and kept reps high as well, overall best back workout thus far. I received an email from Kelly this morning and saw that he increased my carbs about 30 g on my Low and Medium days to slow things down a little, on the other hand my High day was switched to leg day for this week and carbs increased drastically which I am stoked about. It was so nice to step cardio back down to only 30 minutes today:) In between my clients I did some abs and I was also able to foam roll and stretch a little today so overall I got it all in, which made me very happy.

Link had also mentioned to really work on some incline stuff for chest, in particular DB presses and BB press on an incline so I am going to do exactly that and incorporate just fast chest on Tuesdays with my calves and abs. This way my Legs can be trained Wednesday and by Friday my shoulders will be fresh again. This translates into two days off and not three, never will complain about having to do more weight training I love it too much LOL!!!!!!!!

I have been researching colors on the Internet for posing suits, red is always a good color but have been competing in that color for the past four shows. Think it is time to change colors LOL! Going to crash early tonight so that I can get my pump on before my 6:30 client. Much needed sleep to catch up on! Thanks for every bodies support again I am really appreciative of all of you out there:)

Day 44

Wow, Saturday night was a blast. Peter surprised me with tickets to see a dance theatrical: GRAFFITI LIFE (The Color of My Sole), it was so entertaining and inspiring to watch. The show was hip hop dance with a storyline told on a spiritual level, right up my alley:)))))) Such a talented team of kids, were able to send goosebumps all over my body, outstanding performance and my favorite quote at the end of the producer of the show was: "The more challenges life brings, the more color is added to your soul!" What an awesome quote.

After that we enjoyed some sashimi and water at Raw, since both of us were dieting. Wow how fun it was to act like our water was vodka, straight up all about attitude and how you choose to enjoy yourself even in limited situations. Following sushi, we supported my co worker Troy's fashion show at the Hard Rock downtown and then met up with Peters friend at the Ivy for a little to dance and catch up. On our way back to the car, we chowed on some chicken breast sitting in my purse, yummmmmmmy:) and on our drive home reflected on how amazing our evening was and how dieting doesn't have to be a horrible thing. The best part is we both were dieting together and having a blast, how awesome to have somebody love and support you so much on every level and to go as far as dieting with you for the last seven weeks of your prep.

Today was so educational for me. I met with Link this morning my posing coach and learnt more in one hour than for the past three years of posing with different people. I know this time I am entering a National show and posing is critical in terms of wanting to become a champion. I picked the best of the best and will do whatever it takes to get my poses down flawlessly. He told me to practice daily for at least 30 minutes. We scheduled our next appointment for June 10th, after my training session to follow up with my progress and look. I showed him pictures of my last show in Hawaii, he immediately smiled and said, there is no way you can come in that ripped and hard looking or you won't even make it to the 2nd call out. He said my conditioning was already pretty good, just to watch for not getting to cut and to keep a soft and round look for on stage. I was taken away by surprise, yet kind of happy to realize I may be able to eat more and train less intense in terms of long cardio sessions.

I informed Kelly immediately about our discussion during the session and we decided to cut back on the cardio stepping it back down to 3 sessions at 30 minutes a week, and 2 HIT sessions a week. He is going to look over the diet plan again and move some things around where he sees fit. We are going to touch base tomorrow afternoon and I will have an update on how we will modify to achieve the perfect look for USA's (soft and full)!

Wow, time to chill this evening and prepare for the week, its going to be crazy!

Hope you all had a relaxing and awesome weekend as well, because you deserve nothing less:)

Saturday, May 30, 2009

Day 43

Definitely leaner it is ashamed the pictures aren't coming out light enough, thinking I may have to take them in daylight will experiment around next week with that!

Arms was a blast, I saw one of my old buddies in the gym this morning Joe and he is as much as a meat head as myself so we tore it up and got our swell on just like good old times:)))))))

I am waiting to speak to Kelly on upcoming changes for the week, I can't believe I am already half way there, how time is flying. I am not even burnt out on dieting yet, honestly I am so motivated that food is just a tool to get me through performance, that is my slogan "I eat for performance not for taste":), while I am dieting. Will post more when I hear back from my nutritionist.

Friday, May 29, 2009

Day 42

Friday is here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nearing 7 weeks until show time:)
I received a phone call from Ricky Suzuki the promoter from the Hawaiian Islands last night, he wanted me to send him the bill and my address to reimburse me with a check for sponsorship for the show, you know how awesome that feels? I was also happy to find out that when I fly out to support my friends from Hawaii for the Hawaiian Islands I am allowed back stage to help the girls out and be in the midst of all. That will be so nice to be there for everyone and give back what I was given last year support wise from everybody, the other great thing is that I will be 3 weeks out from my show and that will give me even more inspiration and drive for the last weeks of my training prep.

Wow next Thursday my client whom I used to train out in Hawaii Ellen, is flying me out to get her prepped backstage and support her during her very first show, how freaking exciting! I am so proud and feel honored to be a part of both shows behind the scenes!

Training was great today we killed shoulders and I managed to squeeze in abs and calves in between clients, legs are so stiff still really need to stretch the crap out of them LOL!

I am excited to see progress tomorrow when I post my new pictures up, followed by new measurements early next week:)

Proud to say my baby is going to be dieting with me for my last seven weeks of competition prep. I just finished up his diet plan and he starts tomorrow, how amazing is that? This makes it even more fun, having somebody diet with you and being able to look forward to that big day of eating whatever together!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so proud of my baby Peter, Ellen my client who is competing in Tulsa, Amanda, Shane, Kelly whom are doing the Hawaiian Islands, you guys are all studs!

Make sure to stop by my site and check out new pictures with new bikini:)

Thursday, May 28, 2009

Day 41

Cool stuff I am starting to really see more cuts especially in the quads and abs:) I am starting to get more and more excited and the more cut up I get the harder I work, and the easier it becomes (so it seems)!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am taking a close look at my body early in the morning to see what I look like fresh out of bed, that is the best way to gage improvements with the eye. The time has come where I am starting to incorporate more Abs, basically any chance I get throughout the day in between clients I will go down and bang out some fast sets to make sure they stay tight and don't take up my time during a training session. I would rather spend my full energy on the workout instead of incorporating abs then.

In two weeks (about six weeks out) I am going to isolate trouble areas such as my glutes, upper hammies, outer and inner thigh out with cable exercises to burnout exhaustion most likely on Sundays, so that I can have enough rest in between my crazy leg workout Wednesdays to recover. During these burnout sessions I am going to really focus on working different angles to tighten up these areas super sets mostly. This is what I did for my last show towards the end of my training weeks and it really seemed to sculpt my lower half rather nicely.

Touched base with Kelly (nutritionist) today and we are going to go by Saturdays pictures to wait to make changes. Yayyyyy first week where I am going to train arms separately on Saturday, really looking forward to that:)

My interval cardio session this morning was tough but good, my legs will thank me for flushing out some of that lactic acid from yesterdays leg torcher; however I know tomorrow is going to be a killer pain day:))))))))))))))))))))
I know I mentioned previously I would never do another interval session inside the gym, but I had to bite the bullet and do it since my whole day was packed with clients and appointments. StairMaster was the choice this morning switching from Level 8 (recovery) to Level 20 (dying LOL) running. I managed to keep it up for twenty minutes, minute on, minute and a half rest, not including ten minutes to warm up and ten to cool down.

Overall great day, looking forward to my shoulder workout tomorrow!

Day 40

"I have absolutely no limits on what I intend to create" a quote from Wayne Dyers book got me started early this am as we drove back to San Diego from Rosarito at 4:30 am:) During the drive I reflected back on how content I felt and got my mind set for a days of work and getting back into the saddle with hard core training.

Legs was a great success! We completed three compound exercises in a row something we never did with legs, usually two at most are combined with isolation incorporated.

Today's workout included:

Squats
Leg Press Plate Load
Hack squats
Lying Leg curl
Leg extensions

of course all in the 30 -40 rep zone high weights. I was tired from traveling and working, but made it a point to live in the moment during the leg workout and muscle through it with energy and optimism. Great success and I am sure I will be awaiting sore legs.

My fridge is nice and restocked with greens, egg whites, chicken breast, salmon, steak and yams:) I am ready to utilize every minute of my day to my advantage and look forward to transforming into a sculpted hard body. My vision during training is going to be that I am a machine, no feelings of pain, suffering or fear, just getting it done hard every session.

It is time to focus, focus, focus!!!!!!

My suite fitting is one week today, and my first posing session is happening this Sunday. Excited about my journey, but really am focusing on living the present every day and not looking into the future nor the past, just living in the now!!!!!!!

To a great Thursday to you all!

Day 39

Our last day here in Mexico was very invigorating and productive. We chilled by the pool, educated ourselves with spiritual books and did our cardio along the beach. I haven't had such a great 50 minute cardio session in a while. Peter and I ran 50 minutes along the coast enjoying the scenery and the breeze off the ocean. A funny story, along our run a dog came running aside of me and for more than half of the run, became my running partner while Peter strolled along at a slower pace behind us. It was very odd, but cute how the dog and I would do intervals together, running slow then picking the pace up for some of the stretch. Sometimes I would turn around and run back towards Peter and the dog would follow me as if he was there to keep me company during my faster pace. On our return the dog dropped off about half way back and I was very thankful for her company during my run:)

I am ready to head back to work in the morning with a revived state both physically and mentally. Can't wait to hit legs in the evening. Here we come eight weeks left, time is flying.

I am so relaxed, and am going to enjoy the rest of the evening with my baby. Will write more tomorrow and keep you updated on the last eight weeks, as well on any new updates my nutritionist gives me:) Have a wonderful evening and be thankful for each and every day.

Day 37

Mhhhhhh how nice it is to sleep until 10am LOL! Something I haven't done in such a long time. I am really enjoying this mini vacation to recoup, relax and regain energy to get me through the last eight weeks of my competition prep. I am very greatful for this mini vacation and don't you worry I am not letting loose on the training and eating part. Although I may be sleeping more and relaxing and enjoying some sunshine and not having to worry about work, I am still on top of both eating and training as per my set out schedule.

Today I had an awesome HIT session on the beach. After a good stretch session we head down and ran along the beach, I marked my sprint distance and Peter took off and jogged on his own. I sprinted twenty minutes straight on hard surfaced sand, felt strong, fast and accomplished when done. I was even videotaped by some Mexicans, who most likely thought I was freaking nuts LOL! Then we hit the pool to cool off and enjoy some sun, the jacuzzi and some Wayne
Dyer books.

We had an outstanding home cooked dinner, Buffalo burgers with onions and greens, and enjoyed a nice walk to digest and spend time exploring Rosarito:) This evening we plan on hitting some night clubs to dance salsa and listen to some live music. I already have my chicken breast cooked and ready to put into my purse for my last meal snack while out and about (the beauty of dieting) hahahah.

Tomorrow we plan on waking up earlier to hit the gym and head down to Ensenada to enjoy new scenery and beaches. Have a wonderful evening!

Day 36

Mexico here we come!

We drove down to Mexico today and checked in to our lovely timeshare right on the beach. I was taken away by its beauty and serenity. After unpacking mostly all of our food LOL and clothes we took off for a two hour walk on the beach enjoying the sun, people and most importantly each other.

After our walk we made some food and relaxed a little. I worked out weights in the morning before we left so all I had to focus on for the day was to get my 50 minute cardio session in, which I did in the evening while Peter studied. We also started discussing Peters diet for the upcoming week, and figured out food choices and measurements for him so that once I take his measurements and give him guidelines he will be more prepared on what to expect. We finaliazed his training schedule as well and took into consideration his High, Medium and Low days according to his training split.

For dinner we made Fillet Mignon and veggies with home made salsa which we picked up from the restaurant. I must say to be on vacation and on a such a strict diet is amazing when you can share it with somebody who respects you and is considerate on your eating times and choices. Makes the trip so much more pleasurable. We were planning on going out that night, instead we passed out and caught up on some much needed rest.

Sunday will be HIT day, another great session on the beach, I am sure with all that rest the session will be fast and furious. Enjoy our weekend everybody and remember to take a minute out of your day tomorrow to give thanks to all the soldiers and people that have given their lives.

Day 35

Pictures are up, however they were taken in the afternoon after consuming foods and lots of water so the bloat is skewing the actual image a little. I had to download them early since I was leaving town the next day early morning to go to Mexico with my baby.

My nutritionist was also leaving town to go to Maui for the weekend and is not able to check his email so I am going to keep things as they are until otherwise advised.

I did decide to change my training split up, which I still have to discuss with Kelly and see what he thinks. Helvio my trainer and I thought this would allow me more time to really hit big body parts hard and still incorporate an extremely intense arm day on a weekend day, this will allow me to hit arms a little harder due to the fact that incorporating them with shoulder and back days they are so fatigued i feel this will give more benefit overall. Off to Mexico early morning, will keep you updated on my trip and my training and dieting down there:)

The new split I am thinking about goes as follows:

Monday: Back
Tuesday: Abs/Calves
Wednesday: Legs
Thursday: Abs/Calves
Friday: Shoulders/Chest
Saturday: Arms
Sunday: Off

I may even do light chest on a Tuesday to allow for a full shoulder workout Friday will make the call when the time comes!

Day 34

This morning I woke up feeling fresh, ready to tear it up in every aspect of my day. After work I head to Mission Beach where I sprinted for 20 minutes (10min. hard sand surface, 10min. soft sand), was surprised on how well I felt after leg day last night. I made sure I warmed up extensively and stretched when I was done. What a beautiful way to spend a HIT session. Not a soul on the beach, just my ipod and my determination to make every next sprint better and faster than the previous.

I think what kept me finishing strong, was thinking about the massage I was about to get afterwards LOL. What a way to finish of a days of work and working out, with a well deserved relaxing massage.

The wonderful thing about today was the fact that I was low carbing again and felt a tremendous difference in my energy levels:) A lot of that had to do with the way I visualized I wanted my day to run the evening previous. I was actually on freaking fire this evening as I came home from my massage. I am such a planner and now that I am dieting for this show and leaving town on Saturday early morning I got all my food cooked for Friday and Saturday, packed all my supps, measured out all my carbs and packed all my stuff already (taking in consideration my scale, measuring spoons, tupper ware etc.). Friday is going to be super busy for me so I wanted to plan ahead and be ready to roll without stressing out. Saturday Peter and I are waking up hitting the gym at 5am then after our shower heading right out to our resort, so there will be no time to pack last minute stuff.

My bed is calling me, feel as if my day was a success and look forward to a great nights sleep:) We are planning on taking pictures tomorrow instead of Saturday since I won't be in town, hope to have them up for you by tomorrow evening:)

Day 33

Heck yeah what a turn around from yesterday. After realizing how down and affected I was by everybody else's mood I drew the line and had some serious reflecting to do at home in silence by myself. After work I came home, put on some music and got all fired up with positive thoughts, and mind blowing visions about how I want to feel and live my life, and how NOBODY shall ever have the power to take away the miraculous feeling I create and live by daily.

I choose to be happy no matter how tired, how burnt out, how hungry I am. Attitude is the key ingredient especially for my next eight and a half weeks of competition prep because I am going to experience ups and downs. I am certain on shooting for the best day every day! Happy to have experienced some down days, to realize what a waste of energy and time that was and to remind myself that I am much smarter and valuable then to let anything get in my way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My leg workout was one of the strongest I have had in a while, not do to the physical, but the mind set part of it. From the moment I walked into the gym this evening I was certain I would have an outstanding workout and never once thought otherwise. I'm sick of fear getting in the way, so I have decided that instead of getting nervous before leg days I am going to approach it with a psycho mentality and think to myself here is going to come the sickest craziest leg workout ever and I am pumped the hell up for it! Now that is what I am talking about!

Our focus was mainly on hamstrings this week. Weights went up again with no loss in strength:) How freaking cool!

Helivo and I were joking because I said to him I didn't feel like throwing up today and his response was "I guess you will never be satisfied with a leg workout until you get that nauseous feeling huh?" He also said "your a changed woman never will you be able to do just 15 reps on leg day and think you destroyed them and be satisfied, your going to always want to push for 30 haha!"

Well I must say I am looking forward to doing beach sprints tomorrow for my HIT session. Hopefully I will be able to extend my tight hamstrings fully LOL.

Thank you all for being there for me and for believing and supporting me every step of the way. Lets all keep a positive attitude, it will make the world a better place for everybody:) Have a splendid evening and look forward to writing more tomorrow:))))))))

Epsom salt bath time yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!

To my baby happy 2 month anniversary!!!!!!

Day 32

Today was a rough one. Low carb day and boy did I feel the effects of it finally. I think the increased cardio and decrease in carbs are setting in. I really had to keep my focus positive and my attitude upbeat. Not only did I have a day off of training, but also had a light work day, however I still felt drained and non motivated. It is really hitting that time to get away, which as you know is going to happen this weekend (thank goodness)! Mexico here I come!

This evening looking forward to reading my book, sleeping early and eating carbs in the morning and not having to do cardio. As you know leg day coming so energy needs to be contained until then.

The good thing about feeling the way I did today is knowing that I am human and not a machine. I let these days ride out and keep in mind that it is normal to feel this way and I always manage to pull my way back out and motivate my inner self. Nobody is perfect and with this diet and discipline it is extremely important to be kind to yourself and love yourself no matter what emotions you are feeling, or how rough it gets. The eye on the end goal is what keeps me going, knowing I am alive and healthy and have great people with me keeps my fire burning.

Tomorrow is a new day, a day to kill it! Have a good night everybody!

Monday, May 18, 2009

Day 31

Thank God for good books, then for without them 50 minutes of cardio would be pretty boring. The day panned out just as I visualized it, very productive! I was very excited to receive a phone call from a photographer that Peter does trade with, to find out he wants to work out details for a photo shoot for sometime later July here in San Diego.

The theme of the shoot will be fitness related so that I can send the professional pictures out to various magazines and have my dream come true to be publicized as a fitness model. The best thing about the shoot is that it will fall right before my show, so I will look the part of a fitness model and be in the best shape ever!

One of my many goals for this year is to appear in a various magazines and I am confident that all the hard work will pay off in the end.

My workout this evening was amazing as usual, and seeing some more cuts while pumping iron was even more inspirational to want to train harder and more aggressive. From here on out, changes will appear more rapidly week to week especially that we tightened up the diet and cardio.

Going to make my last meal of the day egg whites with some almond butter and hit the sack, so that I can get enough rest for my early cardio session tomorrow.

Sleep tight guys, for rest and recovery is the most important part of training.

Sunday, May 17, 2009

Day 30

Nice Sunday! Worked out at Lava in the morning, did stairs at the Embarkadero in the afternoon and going to bed early tonight. Next week is going to be challenging. I just received new guidelines for my diet and my low, medium and high days all dropped in terms of carbohydrates as well as my fat content, which is my savior for when I am hungry drastically got removed for this upcoming week. My cardio was bumped up to 50 minutes for my 3 moderate sessions a week.

I look forward to getting through this week and taking off to Mexico to train, diet and relax for a couple of days.

Wishing everyone a great week next week.

Day 29

Pictures are updated!

Spoke to my nutritionist earlier this morning after he viewed my pictures and we decided to drop one of my High days and only hit the High day on the days I do a body part twice and consume them on the second workout. All the other training days are Medium and the days off I will remain with Low carbs. We are also going to experiment with the fats in my diet and lessen the consumption and see what happens. Supplements, training and cardio will remain the same for this upcoming week.

To set my schedule up ahead of time for the week I already established my HIT days. I am going to do one Sunday and the other Thursday after leg day (which will be interesting), and keep the other cardio days at 45 minutes early am on an empty stomach with one day off.

This morning I decided to do my 45 minute cardio session on my road bike, boy what a nice change from hitting cardio at the gym everyday, plus my legs feel much better today after that ride and the Epsom salt bath from last night. I hit up my friends jacuzzi and stretched in there for quite some time as well, feel revived and strong again! I have a feeling legs are just going to get easier and easier now, that we have the psycho workout down. It is all about getting accustomed to the weights and reps:)

This evening I am going to enjoy a movie and get good rest so that I can hit the gym early tomorrow morning for a great Back and Bicep workout at Lava.

Have a fantastic Saturday whatever you do!!!!!

Friday, May 15, 2009

Day 28

Talk about still being sore! Geeeeee I am going to soak in some Epsom salt to try and get a little relaxation going in the legs, they feel extremely sore and beat up to all hell. I noticed an increase in appetite today (even though I am on my High day), as well as an increase in body temperature. Exhaustion is at its peak, this weekend I want to lay low and focus on training and resting. Peter and I are going to check out another gym for our weekly workout together at Lava in Point Loma Liberty Station, should be fun to view another prestigious new gym so I hear:)

I finally scheduled my first posing session with Head Judge Link Swinson here in San Diego for Sunday May 31st. I figure I might as well learn from the best of the best and allow his positive criticism fine tune my posing so that I bring an A class package to the stage. Posing is extremely important in Figure and I know that this will be a daily routine that needs to be practiced over and over again until perfection. Honestly I feel posing is the hardest part in competition prep, holding yourself in positions for long periods of time extremely tensed up while looking graceful is not the easiest thing to do. Link and I will see how I do Sunday and set up more sessions for the remaining prep accordingly.

Enjoy your Friday night and come visit my site to see pictures tomorrow:)

Thursday, May 14, 2009

Day 27

I finally received notice that I am officially one out of 300 competitors from all over the country competing in this prestigious IFBB Pro qualifying contest in Vegas in July how exciting! I think the biggest show I ever competed in was the Orange County Classic in 2007, what a difference 300 plus competitors will make.

We also received an email stating that the top 6 height class winners for figure, bikini and overall winners for men and women bodybuilding are required to participate in the NPC NEWS Photo Shoot with J.M. Manion on Sunday, July 26 at the Embassy Suites Hotel Swimming Pool from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. Travel plans should be set according, which will affect me since I am supposed to fly out 9am on Sunday morning. I am just going to plan on missing that flight and taking the afternoon flight out. Thinking of July brings butterflies to my stomach and an excitement beyond belief.

As for my legs, wow they are feeling pretty destroyed. I am glad I got a relaxing massage today to flush out some of that lactic acid, but am certain that tomorrow I will feel as if I was hit by a truck. It always takes me two days to get really sore. Every time I get up from sitting down I am in such agony, however it seems to put a smile on my face, due to the fact I know my muscles are growing and my goal of having nice developed legs for USA's is on its way of happening.

Other than doing cardio this morning, I took off the day completely to allow my body to rest. I was feeling a little tired this whole week and want to play smart not to experience any setbacks. Tomorrow back and biceps and no cardio yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!

I am so looking forward to next weekend my baby is taking me to Mexico to get away relax and spend some quality time together for Memorial Day weekend. I am still sticking to training and dieting so I am relieved to hear that we have a kitchen with full amenities. I am greatful to have such an amazing man in my life and to be in love:) it is the best feeling in the world.

Okay enough of that, lets end this week strong and enjoy our well deserved weekend.

Pictures Saturday!!!!!!!

Day 26

Holly crap! Legs are getting more and more challenging. I felt super nauseous during and after my session today, to the point I felt like throwing up. Kind of sick, but I love that feeling of complete exhaustion. All the exercises we did today were all compound exercises consisting of heavy weights and 30 reps each set, the only isolation exercise was one for hamstrings super set with the leg press. A total of 390 reps for legs were completed in this leg session today all hit within only four exercises and 1 hours time.

1, Leg press
2, Hacksquat
3, Frontal squat
4, Lying leg curl

Sometimes the set becomes so intense and extreme I have to constantly remind myself that only with hard work and pushing through the uncomfort zone will I produce a champion. This takes so much mental energy, because the mind is what always fails before the body does. Thank God Helvio is there to remind me that I am a champion and that when it gets tough to push harder and beat my set to completion no matter how hard it gets. He also pushes my buttons and asks if I want to just give up; that fuels me with more drive and ambition to fight through each set and achieve victory every time. I hate to fail and I will not fail ever with legs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tonight I am going to take it easy and let my legs recover. I am sure I will be walking like I have a stick up my ASS tomorrow, I could barley walk out of the gym and down the stairs to my car this evening.

I look forward to getting up early tomorrow doing my cardio training clients and then heading for my massage with Stacy. I am sure my body will thank me for some relaxation time and flushing out some lactic acid. It will be a real treat!

Goodnight to all of you! Sleep well and remember each day is a gift given to us to enjoy, so make the best out of it! :)

Day 25

I was beat all day today. My legs were still killing me from Fridays workout and not relaxing enough over the weekend knocked all my energy out. I really listened to my body and took it easy. Tuesdays is usually my day off anyways which was perfect, although the sprinting HIT session I was supposed to do turned into a leisure run along the beach for 30 minutes, I still did something productive.

Helvio and I decided to do my legs this Wednesday anyways so an extra day of rest was the best decision I could have made, instead of tearing them up after a sprint session not even feeling completely recovered. After my leisure run I came home ate dinner and went straight to bed to watch a movie "The Ultimate Gift", which if you haven't seen I recommend to do so. Great movie. I woke up this morning feeling like a new person and look forward to a productive and amazing day.

Remember listen to your body for it will never steer you wrong if you really pay attention on what is going on inside. If you are exhausted and need that extra day I assure you it will pay off in the long run.

I will report back this evening on how my leg session goes:)

Monday, May 11, 2009

Day 24

Measurements are in and progress was established. My body fat dropped from 20% to 18% in two weeks. I am loosing body fat without sacrificing muscle as of now, which is exactly what we want. Even though I lost some inches, I am holding on to my muscle quite well. Last week I hit a low of 137lbs on the scale; we will see what this week does, taking the cheat from Friday into consideration and then determine changes for next week in diet and cardio.

Had an extremely strong back workout this evening, still beating my numbers from last back workout. Pull ups are getting easier as the weeks go and the fat melts away:) I look forward to taking the day off tomorrow and just focusing on a great HIT workout session on the beach. My muscles are sore and worked. I scheduled myself a massage for Thursday to make sure I am balancing out hard work with pamper time so that I don't burn out.

Good night and wish you all an amazing day tomorrow!

Day 23

Mothers Day!

Even though my mother far away in Stuttgart, Germany, I still had an awesome day thinking of her and embracing her within my thoughts. We had a beautiful conversation over the phone early Sunday morning and managed to catch up and reconnect. I spent the day with Peter and his mom Lydia, at Sea World celebrating mothers day watching Elvis Crespo live in concert.

That morning we trained at Fit downtown and loved the energy and the different feel the gym had to offer. Peter and I are planning on checking out Lava the new gym in Point Loma next weekend to mix it up and keep training interesting and fun. I finally was able to speak to Kelly in Hawaii about my nutrition and we decided to keep the diet and training the same again for this upcoming week. As planned legs are no longer happening Fridays, we are going to hit them Mondays from now on.

This week Tuesday I plan to do beach sprints and then Saturday a crazy ass track workout with explosive all out sprints. I already feel the lactic acid burn build up in my quads yikes!!!!!!!!!!!!!
To a great week of training and progress!

I plan on getting my measurements done before hitting the weights later this evening. Once they are in hand I will make sure and post them. I also wanted to share with you all, my baby decided he wanted to diet with me for the last eight weeks of my training and competition prep not only to cut up and shed some body fat, but also to experience what it is like to be so strict and disciplined. I love the fact that he wants to join me in my journey, I will devise a diet plan for him consisting of low, medium and high days according to his goal and his measurements.

I am sure it will be a real fun eight weeks for both of us and hey we can look forward to going out to dinner and having sushi together LOL!

Remember no matter what happens in life keeping a positive perspective and seeing the bright side on anything will keep you sane and motivated. I know from experience! The power to make the decision on how to view things are within ourselves! Train hard and eat smart!

Saturday, May 9, 2009

Day 22

Fun and done! Cheat night was awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Peter took me to get Hoboken Pizza in P.B. and it was delicious! I ate 5 slices of pizza and scarfed down chocolate cake and some carrot cake from the cheesecake factory for desert. Was worth it 100 percent!

This morning I woke up 4lbs heavier, bloated as hell and energy so intense you would have thought I was on crack LOL. It worked out perfect. I ran a 5 K this am with some friends to support my client Ashley Wirth. She put together this amazing race to raise money for physical education in Charter Schools, which I thought was worth the cause and gathering. We had a blast and surprisingly I did well in the race for not really training in the running department:). I am stunned my legs were not as sore as I had thought they would be due to yesterdays crackhead leg workout; however, I am sure tomorrow when my delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS) sets in I will be in hell.

So pictures were taken today and due to my cheat the bloat doesn't show much progress, but that's alright, I am right on track and ahead of the game as of now. I am waiting to speak to my nutritionist later on today and see if we are incorporating any changes for the upcoming week. I will keep you posted. Enjoy the weekend and check back for measurements Monday along with any possible updates:)

Friday, May 8, 2009

Day 21

Holly crap Legs are toast! Was totally worth it, because now I can enjoy my treat meal tonight. Okay its a tie between Persian food and Pizza, the chocolate cake is already set in stone duhhhh:)

Main focus on legs today was Hamstrings with a burn out round for quads. We did the following:

SS= super set 3 sets each

lying hamstring curl 30 reps SS BB dead lifts 20 reps
DB stiff legged dead lifts 20 reps SS standing 1 leg curl 30 reps
hack squats bottoming out 30 reps SS with seated leg extension 30 reps (mhhhh what a burn)
seated leg curls 30 reps

I guess we will see how well I can walk this weekend LOL. I am glad I have a High carb day along with a cheat I am sure this will be burnt right off anyways and go straight to the legs.

Next week will be an interesting week. I am starting dance lessons with my honey either Thursday or Friday evenings for Salsa and Meringue and I am switching my leg workouts to Mondays so that I can dance and blast legs out with enough days in between for recovery. This shift in schedule also means I have to rotate my sprinting HIT days around my leg workouts, so I will incorporate one most likely Wednesdays and the other Saturdays. All else will still be rotated according to day and plan A, B, C until there is a need to make a change.

Happy Friday and a special thank you to all of you for reading my blog and supporting me along the way to becoming a champion.

Much love

Day 19, 20

Almost three weeks down 11 to go:) Weeks are flying by it is insane. I did an early HIT session this morning on the stair master and found out sprinting on stairs inside at 4am not the most fun thing to do. I would rather save those days where I have to do intense cardio and do them outside during the day. I think it is much easier to muster up energy for energy release in terms of intense cardio later on in the day. The beauty and serenity that San Diego has to offer is also a plus. Well you live and learn right.

I am so excited to hit my treat meal tomorrow evening, honestly not sure where we are going to go yet, but I am sure a piece of chocolate cake will be somewhere within the mix yum!

Tomorrow's leg day is creeping up on me and I am starting to get myself ready using tomorrow night as an incentive to train hard as hell. I look forward to the weekend and pictures, I feel throughout the week I have changed quite a bit. Stay tuned for pictures and measurements this coming Monday.

Remember it is the power of the mind that will determine your success. Attitude is critical in everything we do and that is what will set us apart from ordinary people that just go through the motions in life. I never want to be just mediocre do you?

Tuesday, May 5, 2009

Day 18

We did it!!!! Stairs were freaking insane. I ran the Embarkadero stairs with my clients Ashley and Seal and Joanne Ashley's aunt. What an intense workout. We warmed up briefly and took off continuously sprinting up the stairs single and double stepping using the walk down as a recovery, then right back into high gear until the top. We went full force for twenty four minutes then cooled down for about five minutes before stretching. I can't tell you how badly my legs were quivering. I am so glad Ashley drove, I remember last year I couldn't drive my stick shift car for about twenty minutes because every time I applied pressure on my feet to push the clutch in, they would shake out of control LOL.
We had such a blast and it sure feels good to be done. I am glad I brought my I-pod to get me through the workout for if it wasn't for awesome music it would have been much harder to complete. I am already looking forward to my next session! Next time I am already looking into stepping it up with even more intensity! I love the feeling of being completely annihilated! Where the mind goes the body will follow; that is my goal every workout no matter if strength training or doing cardio, I always want to outdo last time!

Monday, May 4, 2009

Day 17

Its official! My NPC card came in the mail and my application was sent out today. Yeahhhhhhhh!
A day closer to the big day, boy time sure is flying.

I was pleased to see my weights go up in every exercise today in my chest/shoulder/triceps workout rotation A. This week is all about beating numbers and getting my cardio HIT sessions up to par. This weekend was fun and relaxing so my energy level is skyrocketed and I feel the challenge will be met with flying colors.

Look forward to reporting on how the convention center run goes tomorrow, should be fun, it will be four of us including myself. A lack of motivation and energy won't be the obstacle, it is the power of the mind that will determine the outcome of the session. I know I am ready to tear it up so bring it on!!!

Sunday, May 3, 2009

Day 16

What a refreshing fun weekend. How does one whom is on a strict diet and intense workout regimen go out and enjoy life. Simple! Here is how:)

Saturday Peter and I took beach cruisers around the bay enjoying each other for about an hour ride. Randomly Peter looked on line and saw an opportunity to go downtown and watch a symphony. So we decided to get ready and enjoy some classical music downtown, which was an excellent way to unwind and spend quality time together. What an amazing man I have by the way:))))) I was blown away of how beautiful and powerful such a performance can be. I was wowed and mighty impressed by the whole performance and talent. Afterwards we hit up some sashimi at RA sushi, which was nice, due to the fact of not being able to go out to eat much due to the strictness of my diet.

This morning I had a surprise planned for my client Deb:) It was her birthday and I thought to myself why not take her on a 6 mile walk downtown at the Embarkadero to enjoy the gorgeous weather and views of the harbor. We were accompanied by Grampy and the surprise turned out fabulous. Exercise doesn't have to be a life sentence and along with great company wow, what a treat it can become.

I also took a snapshot of my challenge on Tuesday for sprint day for my HIT session. Wow what a magnificent way to enjoy a hard core cardio session outside. In all I am blessed with my life and appreciate the people that I surround myself with and the beauty that San Diego has to offer, physical or for pleasure how can you get bored living in such a beautiful city.

Day 15

Picture update! This morning I sent my pictures to my nutritionist Kelly Valdez who is helping me with the show prep and we both decided already leaning out a little right on track. The following changes for this upcoming week are minimal: Cardio sessions still five for the week, however the duration and intensity is going to change. Instead of 30 minutes five times a week, we are changed it to 45 minutes three times a week, with two HIT sessions for 25-20 minutes (not incl. warm up and or cool down). Diet and carb set up will remain the same. Keeping my low days on my off/abs/calves days and high on leg days and one other day the rest at medium. On Friday I am allowed a free meal in replacement of my last meal, which will happen after my leg day. I am so looking forward to that day. We will see what my taste buds crave at that point in time:)))))))

Workout today was killer. I trained with my babe and we pushed it damn hard. I love it, definitely felt worked afterwards. I noticed that my pull ups are getting a little easier, and look forward to more weight coming off to have the ability to do them all without a spot.

I cycled through all the workouts and am starting back on A for next week. My focus will be again, either to increase weight and or reps. Seeing slight changes only after two weeks is so damn motivating to me, I am diligent and hungry for more intense workouts and look forward to more improvements down the road.

To have a hard body you need a strong mind and that is my motto. Train hard and smart!

Day 14

Two weeks down 12 to go:) I am starting to feel hungrier on my diet. I had a high carb day today for my leg day which was very satiating, however on my low days I am noticing a steep increase in appetite, stomach growling more towards the evening. I really think my metabolism has started to kick into high gear. I am sure next week after incorporating HIT sessions I will notice more of a jump in appetite as well as a rise in body temperature.

Leg day was brutal as usual, pushing 630 pounds on the leg press high reps of course:) followed by an immediate jump onto the leg extension for another freaking record weight and rep set. Hamstrings were targeted today as well, pounding out 20 reps on the leg curl heavy weight followed by stiff legged dead lifts with 185 pounds including the BB for my heaviest set. Last but not least we super set seated hamstring curls with 90 lbs for thirty reps, followed by 1 legged sideway lying presses, which (holly shit) made my ass burn so badly I thought there was a match stuck up it LOL! On the sideway press I also maxed out the heaviest weight ever 50 lbs with 30 reps. I was happy and look forward to beating those numbers next time around.

I know for my legs to respond we really need to drill them to absolute failure. I am so stoked to see what I will look like even just three weeks from now, I am already seeing some cuts in my legs from only two weeks of dieting.

As for diet changes, we decided to keep everything the same for now until we compare the new pictures with the old ones. Already looking forward to pounding out back and biceps tomorrow morning early. Tonight date night with my other half, time for some unwinding and fun:)

Day 13

Pamper day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Once in a while one must pamper themselves and enjoy the benefits of a great deep tissue massage and feeling good and clean after getting a relaxing manicure and pedicure. Morning cardio/abs and calves were taken care of earlier this morning. I managed to break away in between clients and actually made time for myself which felt great. I love days that you can enjoy errands without much stress and feel relaxed in the evening and have time to enjoy the benefits of the pamper day.

Muscles are back to normal, feeling as if they are able to move freely again, without knots and such tightness hindering my workouts. Nails and fingers look nice and groomed and I have time this evening to enjoy my book and visualize my next couple of weeks before hitting the sack early tonight.

What a great day for not only my physical being, and or appearance but most importantly for my soul and spiritual side. I am ready to hit legs hard tomorrow and enjoy a date night with my lover. Going on two weeks now, time is already flying.

Will have pictures posted by the end of the weekend and remember next week is step it up week! Stairs I am ready for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Day 11 and 12

Crazy couple of days behind me. My car has given me nothing but problems, but they are all fixed and I kept on track with everything remaining calm and positive about the situation. I have been filling my mind with nothing but positive thoughts and visions of being cut and ripped on stage, which is my driving motivation everyday when I am standing on a piece of cardio equipment at 4am.

Already booked my first sprint session for next week. I am planning on meeting my client to do stair sprints at the convention center Tuesday at 5:30, I am stoked. There is nothing better than being done with an intense sprint session. I look forward to the quivering legs and almost impossible drive home with my stick shift car. Sick huh?

Training this week has been awesome. I am cycled through all workouts so next week the challenge will be to beat numbers either weight or rep wise. Progression is the key to grow and keep size on. Legs is also just around the corner. Gee I am sure this session will be brutal and a tear jerk er, but I must say I am ready to hit it hard. I already committed to staying in and going to bed super early Thursday to have immense energy and power behind my wheels.

I believe everything happens for a reason, and the reason my car broke down and my life has been a little crazy is because I am burning the candle at both ends once again. I have yet to learn. This is the time to focus on work, and myself and stick to plans I have made for myself instead of allowing myself to be torn in all directions. I will work on that, so that when time comes where diet is stricter and training seems harder I have energy reserves for that extra push. Thanks to all my clients, friends and co workers for helping with keeping my ass afloat during chaos times, I do appreciate and notice your input.

Day 10

Measurements are in:

I am already starting to cut up. Going to pay close attention to my LBM to make sure I don't loose too much it is also very hard to measure with callipers they are not always 100 percent accurate and the slightest pinch difference can show. I use the callipers to give me a gage to go by really I eyeball my progress daily in the morning and use clothing as cages. Great workout for back yesterday. I noticed the back work out was so intense my biceps almost failed during first bicep exercise. I think in the next three weeks I will incorporate an arm workout separately from back and shoulders. Areas I really want to focus on not loosing size are my arms, and shoulders and legs and upper body need to be proportioned.

Bicep 5
Triceps 9
Sub scapular 10
Supra 7

Day 9

Another beautiful day out here in San Diego. Life is beautiful training, nutrition and organization of game plan is all on track. This upcoming week I am keeping everything the same within my diet cycle (High, Medium, and Low days will remain the same). My training is still rotated through A, B, C training days for each body part except leg day, which will change weekly with focus on progression of weights and shocking the hell out of my legs since they respond best to such training. Fridays leg workout left me sore, but I wasn't as destroyed as two weeks ago, when I couldn't walk for five days. I am pretty sure this coming Friday will be more intense, since it was my first week back from taking off we had to ease me back into the craziness.

Starting next week I will incorporate one or two HIT (high intensity training) sessions with shorter duration but way more intensity. Think these sessions will happen outside at the convention center and on the track. I will do sprint work up stairs and around the track, shredding up recruiting more fast twitch muscle fibers, which in the long run will be more beneficial to my training for aestetic reasons. The other cardio sessions will be incline treadmill, stepper or stair master which are three I currently cycle through.

Weights will remain more heavy to not loose size most likely for three more weeks until we make changes in that department. It is always important to make changes as needed. I can not predict the future and how I will look, so we play it by ear to keep it perfect.

I checked out that new gym today where I did my workout, which made up for yesterday and must say it was beautiful. All brand new equipment and a high class status. I did miss seeing familiar faces, however I love switching gyms up once in a while to keep it exciting and motivating for myself.

Lets get this week started! I am going to focus on not overbooking myself and making sure I have time to reflect mentally and spiritually.

I am thankful and blessed with my life and my surroundings:) Thank you to all my team players as well in helping me scuplt that perfect body. You know who you are and I will make sure to go into more detail about each and every one of you in the upcoming posts!

Day 8, Saturday

Wow, today was an absolutely amazing day. We had an outrigger canoe challenge and were in the race to defend our championship status from last year. Our team paddles this, which consisted of Tammy, Ryan, Dave, Chris and myself upheld it and won first place out of 98 boats once again this year. I am so glad that my legs were sore and not by upper body otherwise I would have not been as strong in the race:)) It was such a fun day, clients came down to support such as Debbie my amazing weight loss client, who actually was recruited to enter the race with one of the other teams, what a blast and also Peter my boyfriend who jumped in one of the boats who was missing a team member as well. The support was welcomed and really appreciated and everyone had an abs0lute blast!

I swear doing an all day event such as this you have to come fully prepared with foods and supps and everything, no time for slacking on getting your stuff ready ahead of time otherwise you are bound to fail and as a champion there is no room to make mistakes. In hand today a big fat cooler stacked with all my foods for the day, yummy egg whites, flank steak, chicken breast, veggies and almond butter.

I planned my workout around this event. I was supposed to train Chest, Shoulders and Triceps today, however I switched it till tomorrow since I want to be fresh and have an outstanding workout, I also switched my carb days around for this weekend to make sure I was eating according to workout schedule and not days selected previously.

Peter and I are going to check out the new gym downtown tomorrow Fit Athletic Club, supposedly extremely classy, brand new and the talk of the city so we will see what our take is on it.

Measurements should come Monday already have the new pictures for week 2 for your viewing pleasure, not much change but I am sure within a month there will be significant changes.

Day 6

Today I went ahead and started the application process for the USA's and let me tell you its a little more complicated than I thought it would be. I sent out an application for my NPC (National Physique Committee) card and paid $85 for that. I can't send in my entry form until I have my NPC card in hand, along with a Money Order of $150, proof of passport or birth certificate and proof of my placing from my previous show that qualified me for nationals.

I am almost complete, just awaiting my NPC card and then it is official. Flight, hotel and food expense taken care of; registration pending.

Low carb day today, which is perfect since it was one of my days off. I must say my brain is functioning more than what I remembered it to be when I first started to diet for Figure shows and had come across those evil low carb days. I am feeling a little more tired than usual; however awaiting tomorrow with a smile on my face. Leg day!

I did cardio all this week before training my first client at 5.30am so had to make it into the gym and be done and ready to train by my first client. I guess it caught up with me finally today. I am planning on a good nights sleep tonight to energize my body and get it ready to be hammered tomorrow at 9am. Thank God, a high carb day to look forward to and no cardio!
Yes, Yes, Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On leg days I tend to not do cardio to allow my legs to rest, recover and grow! Will have to video tape part of my leg workout soon one day:) Have a good night and stay tuned for more body shots this weekend!

Day 5

Today rocked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had an extremely productive and amazing day. It is fabulous how on track you can be when all your stuff is laid out and thought of ahead of time.

My back and bicep workout was fast and intense. I am training heavy these next couple of weeks with a little less reps but heavier weight to keep on size before I go with heavy weight and burn out rep sets. I crack up when I do pull ups normally at weight 130 not a problem, but at 145lbs a little harder to get 10 or more perfect reps in LOL. Diet, supps and training have been one hundred percent on track.

I have come to a realization. Until all my stuff is organized and put together I can not focus on anything else, otherwise I will fall behind and get stressed out, so one valuable lesson I am trying to obey by is getting my stuff done before committing to anything or anyone else.

Tomorrow is my day off and Friday the big leg day, which I am extremely excited but at the same time scared shit less of! We hit them so hard before my week off I couldn't walk for five days. I seriously get butterflies when I think of legs, but I know I need a day or two to pump myself up for them so here we go a mental note to self "LEGS FRIDAY HERE WE COME"!

Day 4

Again and again am I reminded of how blessed I am to have such amazing people in my life. This day in particular was very special to me. My darling Peter sent me a dozen roses for our one month anniversary and completely took me by surprise. I received a phone call from work to come in and pick up a delivery that was sent to me. The front desk staff said they have never seen such a big smile on someones face and commented on what a wonderful man I have.

I chuckled to myself and thought wow this Peter that fell from the sky is pretty damn special and even though I was low carbing all day long, I had energy galore and knew I was not alone in this experience. I am so certain and positive that this 14 week prep will be a breeze due to the fact of having the most amazing friends, clients, family, co workers and supporters from the gym whom all believe in me and what I have set forth to accomplish.

Thank all of you for your ongoing support and believing in me! I respect you all, and appreciate each and every one of you out there in my own special way:)

Let's bring on day 5 I can't wait to train again, Back and Biceps tomorrow!

Day 3

Day three and hooked. I feel rested from taking this last week off and was on fire today. Honestly rest and recovery really plays a tremendous role in performing at your best. I love to over train, which is my downfall. I am an extremist so to not burn out and stay strong throughout my prep I really have to listen to my body and be smart. I feel I have gotten off to a great start and feel this prep will be a breeze, since I have done six shows prior and have learned from every show how to better prepare for my next.

I spoke to my sponsor Rick Suzuki from Hawaii about my sponsorship package and finalized my plane ticket, and my hotel room.
I also spoke to Brian David and set my date to get measured for my suit to pick out color and style. Seven weeks out is typically the time to go in for a suit fitting.

My flight is booked for Tuesday 21 July, I did this to have a couple of days to get settled before the big show. I plan on doing a professional photo shoot on Wednesday and have Thursday to prepare mentally and do last minute posing and body painting.

The best feeling is to have everything organized ahead of time I love doing this so that I can concentrate one hundred percent on training and not feel stressed out and waste mindless energy worrying about getting all my ducks in a row last minute. (Trust me, I have learned from past experience LOL).

Alright so far so good lets see how the weeks unfold. The hardest part which is the preparation is over, training is the part to cruz and enjoy and I am more than ready!!!!
